One of my friends has texted me to say has a problem with her Advent laptop.
Its only a few months old and last time used was fine and she logged out normally.
It boots up but when you get to the screen where you have to press enter (IM not sure what this screen is called). By default I think it has like a viewing tower or something on it. When you enter passed this screen it is where you chose which account to log into.
Any ideas?

You cant get that far. Its the screen before you choose an account to log on.
Had a look at it today and the mouse icon isn't there either. I have tried powering down fully, tried with no battery in and tried the restore point that it appears to default to in system repair mode,
Any ideas?0 -
Its still in manufacturer's warranty. Take it back to PCW and ask them to repair it. And expect a long wait...
If they offer a refund, tear their arm off and buy any brand but an Advent (PCW equivalent of 'Matsui').No free lunch, and no free laptop
