Any Advice

Hi
I have a query about my rights regarding a hand bag that is becoming faulty. I bought it from Debenhams at the end of Feb this year and started using it mid March. It is a leather bag and the handles on it have become very worn and cracked at the edges. There are also some small worn marks inside and outside the bag. I contacted Debenhams today and they told me as it was out with the 28 days there was nothing they could do. They suggest I take it to my local store and it would be at the discretion of the Sales Manager. I am going to take the bag to the store on Thursday but just wanted to know where I stood as I don't feel this bag is of a satisfactory quality.
Any tips/advice would be great.
Thanks

You should have statutory rights under the Sale of Goods act.
If you claim within 6 months, they have to replace or repair it unless they can prove it wasn't faulty. After 6 months, the onus of proof is on you.0
