    No, it isn't.

    Save money now. Do without for a week or two if necessary. Then start saving each month for next year's annual premium.

    find an insurer who doesn't have a credit card fee charge.
    pay insurance in full using credit card
    make sure credit card is 0% and pay back more than the minimum so when 0% ends, you don't owe much.
    hide credit card so no more further spending.
    if you can get 0% credit card....

    No brainer - why on earth would you want to pay £80 more? Pay it and be done with it thn start saving for next years premium now!
