Scottish Hydro

a good few years ago, I changed form NPower to Scottish Hydro on the basis of someone turning up at my door - telling me things I wanted to be told and add to this the terrible customer service experience I had with Npower i thought i would change.

That was back in August 2008. I lived by myself in a 2 bed flat and was working 8-5, Monday to Friday.
My bills were £50 per month (£25 gas and 25 elec)
The guy who came to the door said he could cut this and it was amended to £20 each or £40 per month. That lasted for about a year, when I got my annual letter in, and they changed the price to £60 (£30 each), then 6 months later it went to £30 gas and £66 for elec. It stayed at that for over a year and has now went to £50 gas and £62 electricity

Now I am aware over the last few years the price of fuel has constantly been on the up, but I'd like to know if the jumps that happened were down to being missold in the first place?

Can I prove this? Or because it happened so long ago, I just need to accept it and move on?

Thoughts please!

  • It may be hard to prove since it was so many years. Have you got any paperwork from the original transaction?

Congratulations on removing your own competitor website URL from your sig line. Just in case you did genuinely miss it - you are still promoting your own site, linked by your less than subtle avatar to your URL in your public profile, and by using your website name URL="http://www.spam-uk.com/"]direct URL link[/URL as a less than subtle forum avatar/nym! - The MODS may have missed the links, in case they did, I bring those links to their attention.

Its against forum rules to use this site to promote your own, it might be a good idea to remove both these other links to your own site. That way you can continue to post and inform in the community while abiding by the forum rules. If you don't like what I say contact the forum team and ask their permission to use their multimillion investment as a free promotion vehicle for your own competitor comparison site.
