Thank you to the MSE team for encouraging negotiation when renewing insurance etc. I finally changed home insurers last year after staying with the insurers we were allotted by our building society for many years. This year they put the premium up by £150, so I called them to ask if they wanted me to leave. The increase was reduced to £40! This seems a pretty good deal to me, with very little effort - I had to call them anyway to use our current credit card. Very many thanks.
