You are quite correct. Sloppy colloquial wording on my part. I should have said that they could find for the PPC and order a judgement against you.0 -
Thanks everyone for your replies. I should have known better than to dash off a letter to these guys, but I got myself in a tizz because with all I have going on domestically and professionally, I let them get to me! Mea stupid culpa :P You have all given me a great deal of peace of mind. We all know that these "parking charges" ARE a big scam, and I guess I needed someone else with a level head to reinforce that for me.0

Whereas I am with you completely in the message you are trying to get over, don't include inaccurate statements. Regrettably, some courts do hand out fines on rare occasions. If you read this forum or pepipoo you will see that it does arise.
But the chances of that arising are historically minimal, although the possibility does exist, however remote.
I didn't say judgements are never made against the motorist, I know they are. I was saying that Mr.Zul's scenario does not bear those symptoms. To my knowledge, when the court has sided with the villains, it has been down to a mixture of bad judgement and poor defence, even not showing.0 -
OK. But your opening paragraph read differently, hence my post.
The general thrust was right though.0 -
Hi Mr Zul
Just to reassure you further, I regularly park at the Didcot Orchard Centre and have received the same series of letters, initially from Parking Collection Services, then Debt Recovery Plus and finally a couple from Zenith Collections. All of these emanate from the same address. I have ignored every single one, with apparent impunity since it is now about two years since I heard from the blighters.
Take no notice, they clearly make enough from the mugs who do pay up to be worrying about the likes of us.0
