The Proteam alarm sold by Dyas and others comes off particularly badly.
I would still suggest that you search online for the SF detection model SF350EN. This is the only one i know of that has Corgi approval and is recommended by British Gas and Scottish gas amongst others.
It is a 5 year disposable (long life) battery operated model you can use at home and take on hols. I got one on ebay for approx £14

As above £14.97 from Tescos (500points + Free Delivery +£5off) But they sent a pack of 4 by mistake. So being an honest customer I sold 2 for £10 and kept 2 myself (upstairs/downstairs) so I got 2 free and made ~£5. Top bargaining0
