Had payment refused - not paypal transfer

Good morning all
Just had a payment refused as I paid via paypal - using my credit card.
Seller insists on payment via paypal transfer - I have just looked at the paypal site and could not see how to do this, not even sure what this is.
Have sent email to seller but no reply yet.
Any advice as to how to do this. Also is there any additional charge for me as it is only a low priced item - but due to expiry date cannot mess about sending cheques and waiting for them to clear.
Thanks

Firstly, if the sale was made via ebay and the seller is displaying that they accept paypal then they are not allowed to refuse the paypal payment however it is funded.
It sounds to me like the seller only has a basic paypal account therefore cannot accept payments funded via credit/debit cards. They would have to upgrade their account and then would pay the paypal fees when they receive payment.
The seller wants you to pay from your paypal balance. If you have no money in your paypal account then you would need to transfer some from your bank account which takes upto 9 working days. This does not cost you anything.
If you want to do this when you log into your paypal account you need to click on the "add funds" tab.0 -
You need to use the "Send Money" tab (after logging in) and you will need the seller's email address to do this. Quite starightforward.
If you select "Ebay item" you can enter the Ebay item number on the next page and PayPal with reconcile it with your Ebay purchases.0 -

I think the problem the OP has is not in sending money - they've done that and had it sent back - but in the fact the seller wants the money funded from a paypal balance not a credit/debit card. The seller won't pay fee's then on a basic account.0 -
make the seller upgrade0

Thank you for all your advice.
Still no reply from the seller, I have emailed again.
I guess it is as has been suggested there will be a charge for them to take a credit card payment.
Checked the listing and it did say paypal transfer only. i did not realise there was a difference - I just read paypal and thought ok.
As it is for a voucher with a limited date I am a bit stuck as they have refused my payment.0 -
Did the listing show the paypal credit card logos? My TV is broken!

No paypal credit card logos - just mentioned under terms at the bottom that paypal transfer accepted. My error in that I just read paypal and thought that was ok. But for something with a short lifespan due to date on it I need to make a quick payment and to receive by return post.0 -
It’s not your error. The words “PayPal transfer” don’t have any specific meaning. I would have though any payment through PayPal could be described as a transfer. Whether you pay using a PayPal account balance or using a credit or debit card, it always becomes “e-money” held in your PayPal account before being transferred to the seller’s PayPal account. Just, in the case of cards, it’s only held there for an instant.
If you want to pay by credit or debit card, stick to your guns, and insist on paying that way. This is especially true for credit-card payment, as you get extra protection from the credit card system.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0 -
Seller has at last got back to me - but only to confirm will not accept the credit card transfer and suggests I send a cheque.
By the time the cheque reaches her and allowing for time to clear it will be too late for me to use vouchers.
Am I entitled to say I no longer want to proceed. I am happy to pay her listing fees .0 -
It would be polite to pay the listing fees, as technically it's your error.
If you're keen to get the item you might consider a postal order. My TV is broken!
