Topcashback Warning

Hi, I am a user of the top cash back site (TCB) and have saved nearly £400 in cash back. However, last month I was checking a price out on TCB and noticed an advert on the side for a "free trial" of some beauty treatments and diet pills. My wife has been struggling to lose weight and enjoys using night creams etc. As the site was TCB I trusted that it would only show genuine and ethical ads. So on behalf of my wife I clicked through to the site (Basically it was for a 21 day free trial just pay postage). Great my wife gets to try the products and then can make an informed decision if she wants to carry on, either way it would only cost postage or so I thought. Because it came from TCB I didn't do my usual search before ordering. When I had ordered I realised it was actually a scam. You give credit card details for the postage which they then use to set you up an auto ship for the products that cost £79.95 monthly. The terms are hidden away right at the bottom of the long site in small feint writing. I cancelled the dead sea salt beauty product straight away via email. They still sent the product (from London), it then cost me £10 to return the the product to Israel! on top of the £3 +£2 postage and (insurance of which I didn't want or need) and I also had to send a scanned copy of proof of posting, before they would refund my money and added the proviso that there would be a charge if the products needed to be restocked, i.e. used any of it (how is that a free trial?), fortunately she had not opened the the stuff. The diet pills was where my suspicions were raised. But only after I had given my card details. I immediately via the site cancelled (or so I thought) the order. However, the pills duly arrived, I've repeatedly sent emails asking them to cancel and confirm the cancellation of the product, which they ignore. They have also taken £79.95 out of my credit card account. I am in the process of trying to ensure a) that it is cancelled so that I don't get rebilled. b) trying to get my money refunded via the credit card company.

The point of this is post really is just to warn others that TCB doesn't moderate their side Adverts, don't make the mistake I did and trust the TCB. Sorry to have gone on , but I feel better now knowing that I might have helped someone prevent the pain that I'm going through right now. And Top Cash Back should be ashamed of themselves.

This isn't so much a warning about TopCashBack, more a warning about not reading about what you are signing up for.

The ads that you mention are actually supplied by Google (as stated in the side-bar) and are in response to searches that you have made in the past.

I would suggest that you change the title of your post.

This isn't anything to do with topcashback, so abit unfair to actually pin the blame onto them.

Also, as unfortunate as the situation you are in is, it does tell you about the £79.95 charge before you sign up (I nearly did, but then realised and backed out), I don't know how people still get caught out with this? This thread feels like d!jà-vu!

Few sites are responsible for selling the ad space on their site. It's best never to assume that the site approves or adds credibility to any of the ads they display

    Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry th hear of the problems with this merchant.

I just wanted to post our point of view on this and what we have found out.

This is indeed a Google Ad and as the member above has suggested, we don't directly control the content of these.

Where we do find an issue like this, such as with the merchant mentioned, we always contact Google to remove this from the Ad.

Again, I'm sorry for your problem Petef and hope that you manage to resolve this.

    Best wishes,
    John

Petef pills dont work for weight loss, what works is exercise and eating correct foods.
