I have come across brief details of a Personal Income insurance policy taken out with TSB Insurance in 1990. I have the policy number and premium details but nothing else - is it worth pursuing? I was a freelance editor at the time.

Do you really think the Bank will have any more than you after 23 years? In addition, what would you actually complain about the insurance?I have the policy number and premium details but nothing else
You could send them a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter, it costs £10 and will provide everything the Bank has kept on file for you for at least the last six years and (sometimes) more. If it returns any payment details for this policy then you might have a chance of a successful complaint. If not, then forget it...

Personal Income Insurance is not PPI (Payment Protection Insurance)0 -
It can still have been mis-sold of course. However, 23 years on, it's unlikely any such complaint would be successful.magpiecottage wrote: »Personal Income Insurance is not PPI (Payment Protection Insurance)0 -

Although putting in a PPI complaint on a non PPI product significantly reduces the chances of success. Plus, if we are going back that far, the banks tended to be actually be quite good on documentation on life and pension products compared to the awful documentation they retained on general insurance products. Coupled with the fact that income protection is considered to be one of the most important insurance products you can have by regulator/ombudsman.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
