That would depend on what you bought them for vs what they are worth now, and of course if you have a crystal ball for the future!0 -
Shares in an individual company are always something of a gamble, because no-one really knows what they're going to do, including their own CEO. Is this the only share you hold, or is it part of a wider portfolio?0

I bought some for my ISA April 2012 and so far 47% up, of course I have others down like BSkyB.
There was quite a change between them recently over Soccer TV rights!
Cheers
Alan
PS I am about to sell and switch ISA from Halifax to x-o.0 -
You already have your answer as to what the entire market thinks esmecullen, like all high liquidity assets the price accurately reflects the whole market sentiment.
Not sure that the individual opinions of a handful of folks on this board should be given disproportionate weight.0 -

BT Seems to have paid £1BN For Soccer rights. They might as well flush money down the toilet.
They will make no money out of this folly. As soon as the viewing figures are published, the shares will go one way.
Just like Tesco opening shops in America. Another $1Bn down the toilet. !0 -

At present yes...............majority of my money is in a Vanguard LS60 acc fund and I bought these as a "fun buy"........my sis has a large proportion of BT shares and she said I may as well get into them so to speak so I thought I would see how these would do and wondered if anyone else had them, what they thought on whether they would keep or just have them for making quick cash.............I'm not sure yet what my long-term plans are for these as yet...........was just curious as to what others thought about them..........that all:Dtotal airhead, total bimbo, very superficial:D0 -

What's more they are giving it away for free if you use their Internet!
I think this is part of a wider issue, so it'll be interesting to see where it goes, I'll probably watch from the sidelines0 -
They are doing it for 2 reasons. To challenge Sky and to grow their broadband base. The expectation is that people will migrate from Sky to BT Vision and take up BT Broadband.
Its not only football rights. They've won the rights to broadcast MotoGP from the Beeb as well.0 -

Though its really more defensive than that. They currently have well over ten times the broadband customer base of sky, but with bundled packages and sport offerings then bt are worried about this being eroded.0
