octagonal greenhouse shading
I have small second hand 6ft octagonal greenhouse (Fawt Nova) and I want to be able to shade the 2 or 3 sections of roof during hot sunny days as there is little other ventilation.
Someone suggested painting the sections but it would be more convenient to have adjustable shading to allow in as much light as possible during the more common English Summer days.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Your greenhouse sounds lovely, congratulations! I don't know if there's an actual commercial alternative, but I would be tempted to try to make mesh roller blinds of some sort that you could attach where the side panels meet the roof, that way you could make the mesh triangular and have an eyelet at the end that could hang on a hook up at the top.
Sorry, I know that this is quite a convoluted method, but I'm not really sure how else you can get adjustable shading for that type of greenhouse, unless you can get someone to custom make it.0 -
Shading netting can easily be held in place with bulldog clips or pegs. Just cut it into shape on the shading panels to size, plus a bit of overlap, and peg it into place on the metal struts.
Not pretty, but effective.0 -
Thanks for your replies. I have some leftover shading from years ago so I'll have a go at fitting some made-to-measure pieces. Not sure whether bulldog clips are going to work, but I'll see ..............0
