Standard life dividend

Have just received my SL dividend and am little disappointed. Does anyone know how it's calculated. I read in telegraph it was 12.8p per share on top of basic payout of 14.7p. Mine should come to £345.67 but I only got £284.
Is it right to complain about a freebie?

Dear Shareholder,

We paid a final dividend of 9.8p per share, and I’m pleased to say we also paid a special dividend of 12.8p per share. The final and special dividends were paid together as one payment of 22.6p per share on
21 May 2013.

From my email.

Sorry I got over excited. I've just got my email as well.
• The 14.7p is the full year figure, inclusive of the interim dividend paid in November 2012. The interim dividend was 4.9p per share, and the final was 9.8p, for a total of 14.7p.

Can someone clarify the payment of the special dividend?
I have a scrip dividend set up with my Standard Life shares, but I've just received a cheque this time instead. Could they not use the scrip setup with the special dividend of something?
IANAL etc.

I seem to recall them scrapping scrip dividends last year.

The company that was running it scrapped the Scrip option, tho I believe there is now a Drip option, but has broker fees.
