Personal Search with O'Neill Patient - long time?

We're FTB and got a recommendation to go with O'Neill Patient LLP.
On 28 March we received email that "Searches Instructed". On 11 May we enquired why after six weeks the searches remained outstanding. On 13 May we were told there had been a "mix-up" and they needed to be re-submitted, marked urgent.
On 17 May we got an email confirming the searches were now marked "urgent" and on 20 May another email that we would shortly get the date on which our searches would be conducted.
All of which seems awfully slow. The local authority confirm to be that an official search takes no more than 13 working days. But this is a personal search which is being advertised by those doing them as often being a two-day turnaround thing.
Should be raising further complaints at this time or is this perfectly normal?

I was recommended this firm by bridgfords however my mortgage broker told me they have a v bad reputation for this sort of thing. I would be chasing them daily, you are paying a lot of money for a non existent service! I would perhaps also ask for a discount!0

O'Neill have totally ruined our house sale. They were representing the buyer, and they sent the contracts to our address, not his! Then they failed (forgot?) to begin the searches. Our solicitor chased them for weeks. "We are waiting for searches from the council".
I called the council and discovered no such searches had ever been requested. They hurriedly began the searches after this was brought to their attention but proceeded to lie to their client and to the agent, saying as before that they have been waiting ages for the council.
They are a Fischer-Price organisation. They are not at all thorough, they are liars and they will f*#k up your sale or purchase.
When they screw you over, they will go in to hiding and refuse to answer calls.0
