student Llloyds ppi rejection

Hi Everyone,

can do with a little help

i was sold ppi in 1999 whilst i was a student,
i was not working at the time, was in full time education
i was 19 at the time,

i was in full time education for another 3 years after this point
during the 3 years i did not work
my parents funded my education and i was living at home

i wrote to LLOYDS tsb stating i was student and was mis sold ppi

they rejecteced my application

Stated i was entitled to the policy along with the following

" The docoumentation that you were provided with both at the point of sale and after purchasing your ppi policy, Such as summary of the policy and policy booket, Fully explained the benefits and limitations of this policy, I am also of the opinion that where it was practical the features of the policy were discussed at the point of sale "

"Having considered all of the evidence , including the policy docoument, i have come to the conclusion that the features of the policy were adequately presented to you"

My questions are

if i was a student and was not working, how could i claim on my policy?

as far as i remember, i was not explained the policy, i would have not took the policy out, if it was only valid if i was working

Why did they try and sell me the insurance, knowing i was a student and not working?

they have given me 28 days to reply, should i re write to them, or go through FOS

Many thanks

Tim

You can either write back and tell them they haven't invesitgated properly, or go tot he FOS and wait up to 18 months. Don't hold your breath if you do write back and get your FOS form ready anyway.

I was in a similar situation, as a student I was working but it was less than 16 hours per week.

LTSB rejected my complaint twice even though the second time I included a letter confirming I was contracted for 5 hours per week from my employer at the time (LTSB had not contacted them, I'm glad I did because they have now gone bust!).

I complained to the FOS in November 2012 and magically LTSB had a change of heart and decided to make me an offer in March. My Cheques finally arrived last week.

Unfortunately I think you'll need to go to the FOS with this, but once they contact LTSB they may decide to pay out.

Yes, I would expect Lloyds to pay up at an early stage of the FOS process.
