Hi Everyone,
can do with a little help
i was sold ppi in 1999 whilst i was a student,
i was not working at the time, was in full time education
i was 19 at the time,
i was in full time education for another 3 years after this point
during the 3 years i did not work
my parents funded my education and i was living at home
i wrote to LLOYDS tsb stating i was student and was mis sold ppi
they rejecteced my application
Stated i was entitled to the policy along with the following
" The docoumentation that you were provided with both at the point of sale and after purchasing your ppi policy, Such as summary of the policy and policy booket, Fully explained the benefits and limitations of this policy, I am also of the opinion that where it was practical the features of the policy were discussed at the point of sale "
"Having considered all of the evidence , including the policy docoument, i have come to the conclusion that the features of the policy were adequately presented to you"
My questions are
if i was a student and was not working, how could i claim on my policy?
as far as i remember, i was not explained the policy, i would have not took the policy out, if it was only valid if i was working
Why did they try and sell me the insurance, knowing i was a student and not working?
they have given me 28 days to reply, should i re write to them, or go through FOS
Many thanks
Tim

Respond to Lloyds TSB.

Respond to them saying that there's a lot of information to take in at the point of taking out credit, and you feel it was mis-sold on the basis that you were not working and therefore could not have made a claim using the insurance. You feel it should not have been offered to you at all. What will your verse be?

Unless over 8 weeks, you need to reply to them as you have to get a final response or be over 8 weeks to refer to FOS.
It sounds crazy that they sold you some insurance that you couldn't claim on for at least 3 years. I fear they are trying to fob you off.
Definitely take to FOS though if they refuse to budge.:beer:0 -
I would assume if you were a student that you had some nous about you and that you could see that a premium being charged - what took you so long to claim a missale?0
