Paying car lease - but no car!

I was wondering if anyone can help with this.
I am paying a lease on my 18 month old KA, which broke down 1 days ago, and has been at the dealership ever since. An intermittent fault is draining the battery and they're having problems working out what the actual problem is.
I phoned Ford yesterday and asked for help as I live in a rural area and need a car to get around - particularly as I have a dentist and hospital appointment tomorrow. Although the car has a 3 year manufactuer's warranty on it they won't let me have a hire car until the garage can tell them exactly what the problem is, as, although I have had no work done on the car, it may not be a manufacturer's fault.
I have a courtesy car from the garage which I picked up on Sunday (2 days ago) and am supposed to return tonight as they need it for other customers (who will probably get their car back tomorrow evening). Would I be justified in keeping it until my car is replaced given that Ford are quite happily taking the lease money?

I would definitely hold onto the loan-er until I got my own back. But I would tell the garage that was what I was doing, rather than just not going back.
Good luck!!!0 -
Why won't they give you a loan car? Is it a main Ford dealer? There is no way I could leave my car in a garage without them supplying me with a loan vehicle.
What exactly is the problem? Have you tried a quick google to see if other Ka owners have experienced similar?
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
You are not automatically entitled to a courtesy car, just because yours is out of service. It depends what your lease agreement says - if it says nothing, you aren't entitled.
Courtesy cars are a benefit provided by garages on a discretionary basis, normally. If you fail to return the courtesy car when due, you could be prosecuted for taking a car without the owner's consent, or driving without insurance, or all sorts of things, so that is NOT a good idea!0
