Can anyone help with a query on buying a property. If somebody wants to buy a property but is short 20K on the price, is it possible to buy the property and pay the extra 20K one year later if the seller agrees. Can solicitors draft an agreement to this effect? The house would be bought with a mortgage and savings and then we would pay the extra 20K to the seller one year later.

In theory, yes.
But I doubt
a) that the mortgagelender would agree
b) that the seller would agree0
