Signing off JSA

Dear All,

Finally after many, many applications, I have finally landed myself a job! :j:beer::D:T

I am due to sign on Thursday 24th May, however I start work on 28th May ...

My question is should I a) sign off on Thursday if so does this mean I will still get two weeks money or b) sign off on Friday 25th, to ensure I get two weeks money.

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I have spoken to 4 different people at DWP and they have given me 4 different answers!

Appreciate any help.

I would like to say to any one looking for a job, - dont give up.. you will get there.

    :TWell done and good luck.

Firstly attend as normal to sign on, tell them you are starting work and you will be able to sign the declaration to close your claim from sunday. You will be paid your normal two weeks and then also recieve the extra few days and P45.

    Good luck with your job

Personally I would sign as normal and then sign off by filling in your booklet after you start work, you never know what might happen in those five days and you don't want the hassle and payment problems with having to make a new claim if things don't work out.
