Property Investment Companies (Assetz)

Ive been looking at buy to let investments and have come across a number of these companies advertising. They seem to have a flavour of time share, boiler room etc and seem too good to be true.
Been especially looking at one called Assetz on advice of a colleague. Anyone got any experience good or bad of these and in particular Assetz. I have a feeling these are the next unregulated misselling scandal
