I just wondered how much people make on average a month? I just sell old junk and the odd thing I've bought cheap and I make about £80 a month. I've been thinking of becoming a bit more businesslike about the whole thing though. Like many people I'm having to save up a HUGE deposit if I want to buy a flat, so I want to make some more dosh. I just wondered how much other people make who do ebaying in addition to their full time job, rather than those people who actually do it as a business?
Sorry about the cheeky question!

Well the thing is if you are just selling odd pieces of stuff you have you wont be able to make a lot , or substain it. Unless you are trying to save removal money by selling everything ! So you would really need to find consistant things to sell to have a constant income. How much you make depends on a lot of things you could only sell three items a week , which would not take a lot of time, and make £80 or sell 20 items for the same amount. For the last it would start to take up a lot of time and probably infringe on your work. So if you want to add to your income you are probably looking at selling a few items with high profit.0

Absolutely. But when you start making a profit, it can be considered proceeds of a business and I seem to remember reading somewhere that the taxman is interested in what people make on ebay. If you get caught out you by the taxman, you will also be responsible for dodgy/faulty items sold to consumers.Turnover is one thing, making profit is another....
Selling odds and ends is one thing, receiving a regular income untaxed is gonna end up asking for trouble.:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0 -
