Single parent summer holiday

I'd like to take my two children (7 & 2) away somewhere with sun, sand and sea. I thought of the canaries? but would welcome any suggestions.

I quite like quiet places - being a female on my own and not being a night owl (can't be with 2 kids!) I have quite a good budget of between £1000 to £1500 (MSE savings).

We'd go for 7 nights from 7th July, flying from Gatwick airport.

I'm not too concerned about children's clubs as I like to keep the kids close and spend time with them. I would like a kiddies pool and a choice of activities to do together and a little bit of luxury for a change if possible.

The Melia is a fab hotel

Benidorm is not too far away either, so Terra Mitica, Aqualandia and Mundomar are do able for a fun day for the kids.
Google them for money off deals

It looked gorgeous and had great reviews thats why i thought i would post it.Never actually been to Benidorm before as hubby will not go but my sister and family go every year and love it.
