We've had a quiet bank holiday weekend in the HH household. We went to visit relatives and spent some time in the garden.

Not much to report in terms of MFW. I brought my lunch to work today so no expense there. Also managed to get £10 off my weekly shop in Morrisons using the payday bonus voucher. I have a £2 coin in my purse which will go into the terramundi pot when I get home from work tonight.

Pretty quiet on the MFW front today. The meal plan for this week seems to have gone out the window a bit due to making last minute arrangements with friends and family during the evenings this week.

The house is a tip at the minute so really need to crack on with getting it tidy before the weekend. Saying that, we have some DIY plans for the weekend so no doubt everywhere will end up covered in dust anyway!

I've completed the basic tasks on swagbucks today and have added another £2 coin to the pot. Also paid for the remainder of holiday in August.

Hope everyone's having a good week. Not long until the weekend now.

Forgot to mention that OH called BT this week to cancel a call package we have but don't use which was costing us £5 a month. He came off the phone to inform me that he had cancelled the call package but had agreed to upgrading our Internet to BT Infinity at a cost of £6 a month so we're a pound a month worse off now! One step forward and two steps back with him!

What a hectic weekend it has been. We have revamped the hallway and also gone a long way to tidying up out garden. The local DIY store has relieved us of nearly £200 but it's all stuff that needed doing and was done relatively quickly without too much disruption.

We have made the most of the nice weather and had a BBQ for dinner this evening. I'm not sure we have stuck to our menu plan one bit this week but never mind.

No overpayments to report but should be able to make a small one in the next week with my work expenses being paid. In the meantime I should probably try and kerb my spending but know that that will be difficult due to wanting to buy bits and bobs for the newly tidy garden and almost complete hallway.

That's enough rambling from me. Hope everyone's had a good weekend.

    Evening all,

I have had a fairly productive day today. I have continued to paint the woodwork in our hallway and have also done a food shop which came in on budget. I'm now at work and finish in 4 hours.

I've checked the mortgage balance and it currently stands at £86975.22. I'm about to make a very small OP of £1.68 Tilly tidy to round my current account.

I've brought tickets for a gig in October as a first wedding anniversary present for my husband. It was all budgeted for in the 'present' account though. I've earned a few swagbucks today so that offsets my spends ever so slightly!

Hope everyone's had a good day

It's been a busy day at work today but its flown by. I walked to and from work (a total of 6 miles) so I could make the most of the nice weather and I saved on petrol. I've earned a few swagbucks today as well so I guess it all helps. I've taken my lunch to work both days so far this week and see no reason not to for the rest of the week.

Hope everyone's having a good week and enjoying the sunshine. I'm off to finish painting the woodwork in the hallway.

Hi Thistle, thanks for dropping by. We are getting there slowly but surely. I am constantly having to remind myself that it's a long journey and the mortgage won't disappear overnight (if only!).

Today has ben a NSD. I have taken my lunch to work and stuck to the meal plan. I've also earned a few swagbucks and submitted £40 of expenses at work. These should be with me in a couple of weeks and I plan to put them straight into the overpayment pot.

I have a week off work next week and I'm hoping to have a good look at our finances/accounts and also put some bits on ebay.

Apologies that I've been MIA for a few days. We have had a very chilled out weekend and went out to dinner and to the theatre yesterday to celebrate our wedding anniversary :)

Another £2 coin into the terramundi pot and a few swag bucks earned here and there too. I have now quit the gym and have been trying to take up running. We did our first park run on Saturday morning. It was quite a hilly course and I found it tough having not done any exercise for almost a month. However a timed 5k run for free virtually on our door step every week will hopefully get me back into some regular exercise.

I'm hoping to have a sort out of our finances and clear out/eBay some of our stuff this week.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend,

Well I ended up going shopping yesterday and bought myself some clothes. I tend to have a bit of a splurge every few months. I spent about £60 yesterday. Whilst I was shopping I remembered to do the check ins on the quidco app so offset my spends ever so slightly!

I as expecting some expenses from work to be in my account last Friday but they haven't appeared. I must remember to chase that up when I go back next week.

No overpayments recently due to lack of expenses and small house renovations. It's seems to be a spending diary more than an overpayments diary at the minute!
