Stocks and Shares for a beginner.

Hi

From the outset I am a complete novice within the field of stocks and shares however it is a field that I would like to enter.

I am however unsure about what is the best way of purchasing some stocks and shares ie via a broker or via a Stocks and Shares ISA.

I have done some general reading into this area but I would like to hear your opinions on the best way to get started, thanks.

I'm not sure of the difference between the two you're describing. An ISA is simply a tax wrapper, and can still be managed via a broker. There are some restrictions on shares that you can trade in, for example you can't have AIM listed shares within an ISA.

Maybe you're thinking of funds, as opposed to individual shares?
