trying to load microsoft autotoute 2010 .... was telling me that it needed installation of microsoft visual c++2010 redistributable ... (which i'm sure file list on ccleaner is saying i have . along with 2008 ... )
not sure whether i tried to delete and redownload .. but do know when i start up i now get

" mfc100u.dll file missing"

googled to find download and seen various download suggestions from websites i don't know ..also a "download pchelper 360" suggestion ... but very wary if any of these are secure / safe .

Some things to try without installing crapware such as "download pchelper 360" or whatever that just wont solve the problem.

Firstly, ensure you have Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) installed - if not, download & install it.

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

Ensure you have Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) installed - if not, download install it.

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328

See if it solves the problem.

    If not...

Do a search for the file and make sure a copy exists in the SysWoW64 folder:

    C:\windows\SysWoW64\mfc100u.dll

If a copy is there, try registering it:

Open a command prompt with admin rights.

At the commnad prompt, type or copy/paste:

    %systemroot%\SysWoW64\regsvr32.exe mfc100u.dll

    (note the space between regsvr32 & mfc100u.dll)

Press enter on your keyboard and see if that solves the problem.

If you can't find a copy of the file, or it isn't in syswow64 let us know.

  • waddler_8 thank you .. did the first 2 downloads and that seems to have sorted it .
  • However !! ...

come back to installing autoroute 2010

and i get a pop up saying " autoroute requires installation of microsoft visual c++2010 redistibutable"

    with a click to install.....

but then pop up says " one of prerequisite components failed , set up will exit" .. and it closes .. end of !!

What's the problem and cure ?

    thanks
