You could do O2 or talk talk etc for less than £20 a month on 12 months contracts0

Depends on the allowances and bandwidth. If it's 512kbps with 500MB a month allowance it's a dreadful deal, if it's 80Mbps with unlimited downloads, it's hot.0

its not unlimited downloads but internet is unlimited which is good.. dont think i should do 12 months cos dunno what is going to happen

What do you think these two statements actually mean?0 -
When you say that you are moving into a flat and 'they' will charge you for an internet connection, do you mean that the landlord is providing you with the internet connection as part of a rental agreement? Would you be allowed to sign up for a different deal if you wanted to? £20 does sound expensive, but if it is a one-month contract and it is the only option offered by the landlord, it might not be unreasonable.
What would be the alternatives allowed? Maybe a mifi type device?

but I would guess that might end up as a worse deal than the one you are being offered.0 -
in the end won't take that flat but need to consider options for when i find a flat i want.. virgin are good but i think they are about £21 a month

Pretty much what was said in your previous thread, find the flat, then look at services beyond that. You will be looking at a minimum 12 month contract with start up costs for broadband through the line. Broadband beyond that can be found monthly in a few places like Plus net. But where you find that you do live, you might be able to do things like LLU which will reduce costs as well, but minimum contracts, same as going for a virgin package.
I do believe that if you're renting now for a while, even if you leave before 12 months you should be able to move the service to the next place (with cost of installation again) so it wouldn't be that you are abandoning after say 8 months, it should carry on to the next place (maybe with a new 12 month contract, depending on the provider).0 -
i would prefer not a 12 month contract and broadband with no line rental.. plus net seem to be a good price
