You know.. i haven’t spotted or heard a "shan't" for a very long time.. :)
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I got a letter from lidls telling me their car park is for patrons only - I did send them a photocopy of my bank statement with the card payment to them on the day of the ticket highlighted & it was between me & the car park enforcement firm now & I should contact them.

I got a letter from them, no POPLA code (as i requested) just a letter telling me as a goodwill gesture they will accept £30 if I pay before 01/08/13!!!!!

    What do I do?

Write back telling them they will not get a penny of your money and demanding a PoPLA code.

I concur, you are a customer so there is no loss to the landowner. They would be nuts to go to court on this, write back and demand a popla code, or invite them to issue a small claim.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I don't think Athena has ever taken anyone to court and according to POPLA only had 8 appeals registered up to March 2013.

I expect if you make it clear you are prepared to challenge the charge and insist they either cancel or supply you with a POPLA code they will back down.

Well obviously decline their 'kind offer' and demand the POPLA code by return. Say that if they want another challenge point you will say the signage is pants and their charge is an unlawful penalty as there was no loss.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
