Insurance2Go mobile insurance problems

Options
Hi

I recently lost my brand new iPhone 5. It was 6 or 7 weeks old, of which is spent 5 weeks offshore without it. It was brand spanning new. Insurance to go have replaced it with a refurbished handset that is covered in scratches, the power and lock button only works on the left hand side, the battery seems to be discharging at a phenomenal rate, and the handset is overheating during normal use.

I had already expressed my anger at a refurb being used to replace my new phone before I came across these problems, and now I'm fed up. I'm now having to send the phone back to be "checked", which means ill need to get a new sim for the time being due to the 5 taking a nano sim, and pay for postage back. It's all just inconvenience caused by a company who claim they do send out new ha darts from time to time, I definitely don't believe this.

Where do I stand on being able to get a brand new handset and/or any of my years premium I had to pay in order for my claim to be processed?

I would advise anyone and everyone to steer clear of this company.

Thanks

Josh

  • Most of these mobile phone insurance companies that include loss and theft as part of their cover have absolutely awful terms and conditions and many unhappy customers.

Receiving a reconditioned phone will probably be a part of the T&C's and you're lucky to have got anything at all, however if the phone is faulty and overheating sounds like a battery or motherboard fault then they definitely need to fix it or replace it.

You can get a sim adapter on ebay for 99p.

Do not give up or give in to them!
  • Just as well that I cancelled it this morning.
Had insurance with Insurance2go and never got any documentation apart from a text saying i was covered.

No policy number or reference, nothing. After chasing them for two weeks all they gave me where excuses. After reading this, I am glad I cancelled.
    regards
