Which Joint A/c?

Okay guys,

Me and the missus are thinking of opening a Joint A/C

we're both working. . She's on 16k and I'm on 22k a year. Our current a/cs are with HSBC...

Which joint a/c will be best for us? primarely used for saving mainly.... we probs trasnfer anything from £300 -£600 into the Joint account per month,

One problem I'd like to point is that I have recieved a Satisfied CCJ 3 years ago. Hope that doesnt effect our chances.

I think HSBC have a regular-saver account paying 6% - do you qualify for that ? Because it limits how much you can put in, might be better to have one each rather than a joint one. (Don't know if it allows joint ones...) It does limit withdrawals, so you might not want to put all the savings in there - depends on your circumstances.

The CCJ will effect your partners credit rating, so think carefully before becoming financially linked via a joint account.

Would a joint savings account mingle financial histories ? I thought it was just a joint current account that would do that. (Unfortunately, some current accounts pay better interest than most instant-access savings accounts at the moment.)

Thanks Mr Silk I wasn't aware of that!!!!! I think I best keep it separate for a while.
