Get a high estimate, get the price reduced, find a cheaper contractor or don't even bother getting the work done?
If it's only on the homebuyer's and not on the mortgage report & valuation, it would also have no mortgage implications. One of the reasons I always advise my vendor clients to only renegotiate with a copy of the mortgage report and valuation in their hand.I am a mortgage broker.
