Faulty Rear Windscreen Wiper

Hi guys
Will a not working rear windscreen wiper fail the MOT?
We had to take the fuse out coz the rear windscreen wiper goes off on it's own accord which is most annoying.
Apparently according to a mechanic friend it needs a whole new switch which means the whole indicator unit bit on the steering wheel - this isn't cheap.
Will it fail the MOT?
Front all works absolutely fine.

What car?
Some stalks can be bought cheaply (second hand) and easily installed yourself.

Not tested so it can't fail on that. Only Windscreen wipers (i.e. front) are tested0

Phew - that will save us a couple of hundred pound!
Do we leave the fuse out or put it back in? If we put it back in then the windscreen wiper will start having a life of it's own.0 -
I'm not sure that would fail but if it's doing daft things by itself I'd leave the fuse out or remove the wiper just for the test. Should be a 2 minute job to remove it.
Can a tester fail it for the rear wiper being a distraction? Don't think so but better to be safe.
PS my rear wiper hasn't worked for 3 years (2 different cars but never got round to fixing it on either of them)0 -

Loads on ebay for about £50 ish. Could be an easy DIY fix if you have the tools.
