I've got a clematis growing in a large pot surrounded by winter flowering pansies (now dieing off).
Everything seems to be sticky and covered in little white beasties
Any ideas on sorting it out please?

The sticky stuff is probably honeydew (aphid excrement) and the little white beasties are probably aphids.
To get rid of them, spray with an insecticide. Or encourage ladybirds, etc, which will eat them.0 -

Aphid excrement? ewwwww! :eek:0 -
Spray with diluted washing up liquid in a cheap plastic sprayer, that seems to work, well it kills them but the aphids tend to come back so you may after repeat, best to spray on a evening when sun isnt as hot0

Hiya - greenfly are dreadful pests. If possible (and on some plants it isn't practicable) sling on a pair of rubber gloves and get out there and squish them with your fingers.
Oddly satisfying and a quick way to get rid of them
