Cut a 3'x3' hole & fit window, fit new soil pipe. How much?

I need a 3' x 3' window cut in to a 9" solid brick wall at 1st floor level.
Also a soil pipe is required which will require breaking up the concrete driveway to run it in to the exisiting manhole about 3' away.

I've asked 6 builders to quote & only got one price back (£2,600 !) a window company have offered to cut the hole & supply the window for £950, but advised me to get my own builder to do it cheaper.

Why don't builders want to know?
How much should this cost me?

Thanks!

Sounds like its quite a small job thats why most builders dont want to know. They will need a scaffold tower and a skip just to cut out a 3'x3' hole which wouldn't take too long to do. Therefore they are probably thinking its not worth it for the hassle.

Therefore the window company quote for £950 to cut and fit the window sounds quite good. I would get them to do that then get new quotes for just fitting the new soil pipe.
