Morning,
Im due to move into my new flat on the 3rd June.
Ive never viewed the flat although my father has ( good job i trust his judgement ) I live in Hull and moving to Brighton. My dad is now abroad until he day i sign for the flat...
I currently own my house and a friend is due to move in, with EON , yorkshire water and with Connexin for broadband. i havnt even worked out how to transfer it into his name or cancel and all new in his name? but that can be sorted after, lol
so with my new flat i need gas, elec, water & broadband. whats the best way to attack this so that i dont get stung when i move in and so that im almost ready to move in?
any help would be great!

If you know the postcode of your new property, you could start by doing a price comparison based on how much gas/electric you expect to use. You can base this figure on what you use at the current property, but this figure will not be precise because the flat will be differently insulated, different size etc.
The most accurate way will be to see how much gas and electric you are using when you move in and conduct a price comparison based on the actual figures a month or so in the new property. Take into account that consumption will fluctuate across the year.
When you move out, call Eon and let them know you are leaving and what address they can forward the final bill onto. Your friend should make them aware he is the new tenant and sort out his own energy supply.
Hope this helps.0 -

Hi Rich
Let us know the details when responsibility for your current property changes.
If you let us have meter readings for the day in question, we'll close your account and issue a final bill to these.
We'll then open a new account for your friend using the same meter readings. This will help make sure there's a seamless and accurate changeover.
Hope this helps and good luck with the move.
