Hi,

Considering on having a condenser boiler to replace our old combi-boiler. Would like advice on best value and cost effective systems for a 3 bedroom detached house with 7 radiators.

Thanks

I would advise reading the WHICH? review of boilers. Pay £1 if not a member, or visit a library - if they still exist in your area!!

Why are you replacing the boiler?

If it is an old non-condensing boiler and working then the almost unanimous advice on MSE is to carry on with the old boiler. Many of us soldier on with our 25+ year old models.

The savings are not huge and you will never recoup the cost of the new boiler, before it requires replacement. Also there is little to go wrong with non-condensing boilers; not so condensing boilers stuffed full of electronics.

Loads of threads on MSE(and elsewhere on the web) about this subject.

Thanks for that, having read some previous posts. I tend to agree, maybe a service and replace some of the rads might be better and getting a thermastat fitted.

yep i agree with that, but do you really need to change the rads ? what's up with them ?
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
