HMRC announcement changes loyalty bonus tax rulesNew HMRC (HM Revenue & Customs) rules mean since April 2013 loyalty bonuses have been paid net of basic rate tax on nominee accounts, such as our Fund & Share Account. Loyalty bonuses paid on ISA or SIPP investments are unaffected, as are those paid in the Fund & Share Account before 6 April 2013. Discounts on initial charges are also unaffected. We expect non-taxpayers will be able to reclaim the tax. Higher and additional rate taxpayers will have further tax to pay via their tax return. You will find more information in the Vantage Key Features. From April 2013 all ISA loyalty bonuses have been paid directly into the ISA, rather than a separate loyalty bonus account as before. This ensures they remain tax free and, being paid directly into the ISA, will not count towards your annual ISA allowance.0
