Real-life MMD: Should I keep schtum about car problems when I flog it?

We bought our car from a friend. Never, ever again! It cost us as much, or nearly as much as if we'd bought it from a garage to buy, and has since cost us loads (getting on for £2k ) in replacement parts.
We knew the a/c wasn't working but they said it needed topping up. £300 later and it's still not working. The parking sensors don't work and there's a cracked mirror. We knew all that.
What we didn't know was the clutch went a month after we had it (okay that wouldn't have been predicted even by a garage), the exhaust fell off another month later, we had to replace a tyre to get it through the MOT, and the latest service has come up with well over £2000 of more "advisory" repairs which we have yet to decide about. All of the latter items would probably have been picked up and fixed by a garage.
So, long and short is - if you value that friendship, tell them about the repairs advisory even if it does mean losing a few hundred pounds on the selling price.
Hope that helps!

I am amazed you needed to ask!!!
You have an honest friend willing to pay the full market value for your car to you - do the decent thing and be an honest friend back! Of course you should tell him - and then let him decide what he wants to do in the full knowledge of what he would be buying from his 'friend'.0
