Can anyone confirm that Sainsburys instant access @ 1.5% is the best rate out there for an account I just want to be able to clear very small cheques through and put and take at will?
Thanks. :T

Some current accounts pay a better rate, though you have to pay in x amount per month. But you could just put it in and take it out again.
Rates are not that good across the board though, so that sounds about right for instant access savings.0 -
Newcastle BS pays 2% if you make a withdrawal during a month and 3% if you don't. Can deposit £1-500 per month.

If it's only for small balances, I'd have thought it more important to choose somewhere with convenient access and hours. I have a tesco account paying peanuts but which allows cheques to be deposited in-store. I can then transfer it elsewhere online.0
