Lakeland stock compostable bin bags.
My local sainsburys also sell compostable bags in various sizes. These are made from corn or potato starch and break down during composting very quickly.

Were trying to move out from using shop carrier bags and we have started to buy bags from lidl, cant remember how much they were but they were 30 on clear bags.
i want to know if they are recyclable or are they just the same as normal bags.

The "green dot" logo doesn't refer to an items recyclability.
Recycle Symbols
The Green DotThe Green Dot, or Grüne Punkt, on an item of packaging means that it complies with the German Packaging Ordinance for the return of consumer packaging. The symbol can, in fact, be in any colour other than red. It is administered by Duales System Deutschland GmbH, a non-profit organisation which was established to enable manufacturers and distributors to fulfil the requirements of the legislation. This shows that a fee has been paid for the recovery of the packaging in some European countries.

We've stopped using bin liners/bags at all for the bins around the house. If you think about it you hardly ever throw anything away that is wet. If it's wet it's more than likely food which you could compost. Each week I then use one bag for chucking whatever non recyclables we have. Not perfect I know but hopefully getting there :-)0

P.S. You can get food bins in Ikea amongst other places. Luckily our council collect food/green waste. If yours doesn't please contact them to ask why not!0

I will keep having supermarket bags as long as they keep supplying them free of charge.
I use them for my bin in the kitchen. As they make them so thin now I have to use 2. I think I use more now, then when they were thicker and held a lot more weight.
I don't see the point of buying bin liners which is what I will have to do if they stop issuing them.0 -
