There is another thread laying bare the problems with one particular company so to make it easier, can anyone recommend a conveyancing company/solicitors dealing online who deliver at reasonable cost, on time and are contactable if problems/queries occur?

Pick a local one that you can visit. The saving isn't worth the risk of losing your transaction.0

Not sure where you are but there is a firm of solicitor's called Cunningtons who do conveyancing under the name of Direct Dial Conveyancing. Fee's are very reasonable & they are contactable at various offices around the country. Quote/advice line is 0800 9777887.
I used them for my last sale & purchase & having just sold, have instructed them to act for me again this time around. Their office is manned to 7pm weekdays & is also opened Saturday mornings for urgent matters. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Thanks very much for that recommendation.
Anyone else successfully used Cunningtons or any other online conveyancing company?Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

try abode conveyanicng. I am with them, no problems and they send update emails as well. Having said that I have not completed as yet , but thats to do with my lender. I found them very helpful.
I didnt go in looking for 5 star treatment, and I suggest if you are looking for that , don't delve in this house buying process at all.Inside I am THINKING.0 -

They seem to be an agency who use local solicitors, is that your experience?Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

Personally I would steer clear of supermarket style conveyancing firms. Ask your local EA's to recommend a good local solicitor.0
