Camera problem

I've got a problem with a Samsung ES9. I went to transfer some photos to my laptop this evening but got a message ''connection error'' on the camera screen. I unplugged, switched off, tried different usb ports but the fault remains.

I have been using this camera and laptop together before with no problems. I have not changed anything on the laptop.

I have contacted Samsung, but going by previous experiences of their 'customer service', I do not hold out much hope of getting a sensible answer from them. It is still under warranty. I got it from the Argos Ebay store but I think I remember reading that their returns policy was that you can't return things to the local Argos store, but have to send it away.

Has anyone else experienced this with their camera? Any ideas what could be the cause? I do not have access to another computer to test the camera in.

Why not remove the SD card from the camera and plug it directly into the PC. No need for Sammy software.

Thanks very much :) What is the SD card? Is that the memory card inside the camera? How do I put that into the laptop? I don't see any slot for it to go into.

    Hi

Do you have a card about the size of a large stamp slotted ionto your camera?? if so that is the SD card. If you do not have a slot on your laptop that takes memory cards you will need to buy a card reader { you can get them from the pound shops} that you plug into your laptop via the usb slots and transfer the photo's that way :0)

    Hope this helps

I looked on the Currys site and saw some there. Can't wait to get one, I've another older Samsung camera and it developed a fault of not being recognised. So looks like I'll be all sorted.

    Hi

Glad to help but make sure that you check to see the max size card your camera will take as many places will try to sell you the biggest card they can and it may not work with your camera. You should find that info in the manual for the camera :0)

Simply taking the memory card out of the camera ... giving the contacts a good rub to clean off any oxidisation ... and replacing it in the camera may solve the problem.
