AP007, I have no interest working in a firm. To work in a commercial/industrial environment would make me feel more comfortable.
So its not the financial sector you want to work in but commerce

I always want to make more responsible decision than my boss (and his boss) wants. Feeling very much frustrated, as business nowadays is run short-term focused.

There are jobs specifically in strategy or planning. I'm not sure what the best route into that from a purchasing background would be though.

    Or maybe a management consultant?

Sorry for being imprecise with my word. Right, I want to work in commerce as a management accountant.

Yes, I am ready to start from junior level. Would this make it possible to happen? Still a bit struggle?

I thought a MBA degree might help. But there are so many out there and it makes the degree feeling empty.

Lizling, I don't think I would be capable to be a consultant - according to my impression, telling truth would be a big flaw as a consultant... No offence. You really need to say what the client want to hear the most, probably not necessary to be what they shall hear...

AP007, would it be reasonable for me to think there will be companies give me a chance to start from junior level?

Ah, probably true. I was focussing more on being able to guide people towards better decisions and having an MBA.

Depends if they want someone with no experience and are willing to train you up

I have never worked with anyone who has no experience yet companies do take people on with little to none. I you are willing to study that makes a bit of difference I guess
