Craig & Rose paint?

Hi guys,
I'm looking to repaint my living room (a cold, north-east facing room in a mid-terrace so not much light most of the year), and thinking of going green. While looking for inspiration online I saw a similar room someone had painted with Craig & Rose's 1829 Deep Adam Green paint.
I've never heard of Craig & Rose before but seems they are like Farrow and Ball? Admit I did :eek::eek: a bit at the price though!
Has anyone ever used Craig & Rose paint before? Is it worth the price or is there a cheaper alternative that would look just as good? And finally - if anyone with knowledge of these things (DIY-novice here) can tell me if I'd be making a massive mistake having this colour in a dark room. I havn't tested a sample yet and will get some to try on the walls tomorrow.
Thanks

We have used Craig & Rose paint in most rooms in our home for many years. It is our paint of choice.
Kind regards

Personally I think the colour is a bit dark and gloomy, which isn't ideal for a dark room.0

Hi
I recently used C&R eggshell to paint an old cabinet from very dark wood to antique white, to fit my dining room I coat of primer (not C&R) 2 coats of C&R 1829 eggshell.
The paint was really good and I am really happy with the result. Hopefully you should see it at this link

Thanks for the link P4tti, that cupboard is gorgeous! And thanks for the recommendation aswell toerag33.
cte1111 - it bothers me yes that the colour might be dark, although it seems to work in rooms I've seen online, but maybe they're just bright rooms! I'll get a tester pot today and see how it looks"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -
We have used Craig and Rose paints from the 1829 and Opulence ranges. The Dark Chocolate eggshell, velvet matt and suede effect are all gorgeous and great to work with - made the skirting boards look like big chunks of chocolate and the walls like Green & Black's chocolate ice cream.
The Deep Burgundy emulsion is IMO best in the matt, it's a bit too shiny otherwise. The Rich Gold metallic is fantastic too for small stuff.

does anyone know how c & r compares to Annie Sloan?0

We've also used a lot of Craig and Rose 1829 - Pale Oak being one of our favourites as it goes well with our Arts & Crafts styling. We've also used many of the darker shades over the years and have generally found them good to use as well as usually being a better colour range to suit our furnishings than F&B. The only one we've had issues with is Kashmir Beige - used in both eggshell and emulsion in our new kitchen extension - the emulsion has dried a bit patchy
No experience of Annie Sloan I'm afraid......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

I have heard of Annie Sloan but never used their paint, sorry Frankie
I bought the tester for the C&R paint and unfortunately it's just too dark for the room, although it is a lovely colour. I've actually settled on a Dulux colour (I know, I know...) and am painting it this week!
However - all is not lost as I'm going to use the C&R tester pot to paint my daughter's IKEA table which is in need of much love. I could really get into this upcycling business, it's so satisfying!"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0
