How do I get the lid off a twyford galerie optimise close coupled toilet?

Today the water in the cistern reduced to a dribble without any apparent cause. Wanting to take a look inside I found I could not do so. Does anyone know how to get the lid off a Iwyford Galerie Optimise close coupled toilet? (Although it's a Twyford I guess it could apply to any similar model).
Many thanks for any available help.

Many thanks Valli. Although the cistern featured on the page you linked to looks like mine the outer ring on the Twyford doesn't press downwards - only the flush button does so. I've tried unscrewing (by hand) the flush button but to no avail.0

In that case take the advice on there and contact Twyfords directly;)
Having said that it won't really 'press down' as far as the flush button does, so gently press and push anti-clockwise simultaneously. The unscrewing HAS to be around the flush - the flush ring - because there is nothing else holding the lid on;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

not always Valli, with alot of cisterns you have to remove the buttons, you push one down then pop the other one out then pop out the other one & then you will see a plastic screw, remove the screw & the lid will come offI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

I take your point; what I should have said is that somewhere in that area is where the cistern lid is attached, somehow;)
