I have a good friend who will be doing our conveyancing, so hopefully this will be a calming influence!

Conveyancer will need to be lenders approved panel. As represents not just you but the lender interests as well.
  • Yup she's on the panel working in a local firm... :)
  • Congratulations and good luck! You got an approval very quickly I must say! We submitted ours on Saturday, and been told we won't hear anything for at least a week. We're in similar financial circumstances to you so it's reassuring to hear you got yours accepted.

Still keeping my fingers and toes crossed though!

I was as surprised at it being so quick, though not complaining :)

Really hoping you get news too! It's a horrible wait! Let us know!!

    Congratulations!

Could I please ask how long it took you to get an appointment for the application? I'm being told that the earliest is the 13th over the phone. The branch in London is meant to give me a call back but I haven't heard from them and it's been 3 days...

Does anyone also know if the 95% LTV mortgage is only for non new builds?

We phoned the bank on the Monday and were told that for an over the phone appt it would be around 3 weeks, so I went into my local branch the next day and told them that we could go to any branch if we could get a sooner appt in branch, and got it that Friday!

However I think we were very lucky, as at our appt the MA told us we had been lucky, and that her next appt was around 3 weeks away, so not sure how we managed!

We needed to call them back too, although they say there is this call-back thing!

I'm afraid I'm not sure about the new build question - sorry!

    All the best!

marshmallowkisses I assume you were approved for an AIP? Cause that seems hellishly quick for the Halifax!

I'm currently waiting to hear from the Halifax on my full application, on a 95% LTV New Build... Full application was submitted just over 3 weeks ago, bank stats, P60's and pay slips were sent over to the Halifax a week ago via our Financial Advisor, whom constantly advises me 'in the world of Buying, no news is good news'... Keeping, fingers, toes, legs and arms crossed! lol
