MA's we spoke to said they couldn't get us a deal through Clydesdale as they don't work with brokers...

    I can reflect that :)

Look forward to hearing when you have some news.

Ha! The whims of the mortgage market. What the adviser should of said (but didn't) was that he wasn't whole of market or Clydesdale were not on their lending panel. Clydesdale Bank certainly accepts applications from brokers/advisers.

MM stop procrastinating - go get an AIP! Me thinks you believe the hunt is better than the kill!

Just noticed this! Not procrastinating at all, just a worry wart and like some other posters on here am probably looking for the negatives and fingers crossed, all will be fine.

I am pleased to report we have found a little extra for our deposit (we managed to sell our second hand car at last) - so are looking for a little less in terms of LTV (93%) - not sure if that will make any difference!

All bank statements printed and ready for scrutiny!!

Anyone who has had overdraft/credit card and got a mortgage - would be good to hear from you from your experiences? I don't think I'm in that bad a position?

Thanks so much - feeling very nervous but hoping we are just fine :)
  • SO... we had our mortgage appointment today at Clydesdale, had a really lovely advisor who went through everything with us and consoled me a little bit that my situation wasn't really as bad as I had thought.

Went through our affordability and things seemed positive enough.

She says due to the (blooming) bank holiday on Monday, we have to wait for a decision till Tuesday, however that's quicker than I thought. So fingers are now firmly CROSSED!
  • Well, I just want to hugely thank everyone for the advice through my worried stage.

Had a call from clydesdale this morning (just 1 working day since application) - we have had our mortgage APPROVED :)

The buying process can be equally as worrying and more often than not highly stressful.

Recommend taking up tai chai or yoga to help. ;)

Haha, I'm sure it is - but that was the part I was worrying over.

I have a good friend who will be doing our conveyancing, so hopefully this will be a calming influence!

    Thanks again!
