Hotels near O2

Hi

I am looking to stay in a hotel near the o2 on 26th December. Its just me and the kids so i am looking for a hotel nearby as i don't really want to travel in the dark or walk a long way in an area i'm not familar with. However - unless i'm being really dim (don't answer that!) I can't find a hotel nearby, everyone i look at seems to be a tube ride away!

If anyone has any recommendations/advice i'd be grateful

Check Tripadvisor here for a list of hotels by distance from the O2 Arena. Or similar at Laterooms here, or do what I did and google "O2 hotel" to get a whole set of links. The nearest is 0.3/0.4 miles (depending on which site is more accurate) so not that close - I'll let you know what it's like after I've spent the weekend there in July!

(or even search this forum for "O2 hotel" and you get a few threads with useful info.)

We stayed at Holiday Inn Greenwich. Was about a five to ten minute walk from Greenwich Tube Station. We caught a bus from the tube one night as we were shattered after being out all day and the other night we got a taxi as it was raining and that cost around £5.
We took advantage of the 2 nights for 1 Green Room Holiday Inn offer so didn't mind paying for the taxi (also do a 35% off offer if only staying one night). This offer does not apply to all dates and Holiday Inns though.

There's a couple 600m or so south of the O2, including the holiday inn, but anything else is either 1km south, or over the river by emirates airline to Albert Dock, or under river to Canary Wharf.

There's nothing immediately adjacent to the O2, only car parking....
