Well done Betkin. I had a similiar experience in St Albans. I made an offer on a property I was intending to buy to let. The Connells estate agent told me that I needed to see their finance guy to check my finance. I refused on the basis that I was a cash buyer and did not need finance. I just decided to walk away because I didn't want to do business through them when they had such sharp practises.

We had a similar experience with Taylors of St Albans. We refused to see their in-house IFA and just decided to walk away.

Connells sold my home (which I love them for) but they tried to get me to come and see their advisor to buy my new property, when I already had an AIP.

He said 'We've got some excellent deals with Skipton Building Society right now' - I said 'That's funny, you are recommending the lender that own's you! I'm sticking with Nationwide!'
