Lol it took you over 80 days to check the delivery.

Its your fault, not there's, live with it and learn from your experience.
  • I went to the PO to send an item recorded the other week. The woman in the PO serving me said she thought I should use Special Delivery as Recorded is no better than standard post! I know recorded is pretty poor but for her to tell me not to use it was a surprise. I said there was no point in me spending another £6 for Special as the item had no value, I just wanted proof of receipt. Funnily enough it never registered as delivered on their website.

A reasonable person would surmise that Recorded Delivery means that the delivery is, erm, recorded. :D

Are you saying that RD is not the Ronseal of the postal service? That it does NOT do what it says on the "tin"? ;)

But it is a great little money spinner!

As SOOLIN pointed out ages ago, make P58 claims for the unsigned articles and get a book of first class stamps. Loads of Money!

I sent a Recorded Delivery letter by Royal Mail on the 14th December 2012, I used Recorded Delivery because I was in dispute with the organisation and wanted to make sure they couldn’t say they didn’t receive my letter.
I received no reply to my letter so I therefore asked Royal Mail for written confirmation they had delivered it on the 10th April 2013.

But why did it take you 17 weeks from it being posted, to get in touch with Royal Mail about it?
Surely you would have checked the recorded section on their website, although sometimes not always reliable?
Did you get in touch with the recipient of the letter a few weeks after you posted to see why you'd had no reply?

It does seem you left it too late to dispute where your letter is. Usually if it's something important, surely you would chase the company/person you've sent the mail to, if you've not had a reply in such & such a time.

I would have chased it up a long time ago........

    They didn't.
It was actually 117 days.(if my quick calculations are correct).
The letter posted on the 14th December 2012 and Royal Mail contacted on the 10th April 2013.
