Slow e-mail

Can anybody help me pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee
I am trying to send attachments to people but it takes just so longggggggggg and then errors out.
I am using talktalk which is driving me mad as evertime I call them I either can't hear them because the line is so bad or I get cut off!
We are trying to save money by combining out tel and braudband together but maybe I have made a big mistake??
We have only been with talk talk for about 4 months
Any comments would really help me.
Also are there any programmes that I can use to speed things up or what!

How big are the attachments? There are size limits.

go into your talktalk on this link
    http://supportcentre.talktalk.net/
type in your login name and password to connect to broadband.
this is the usually your telephone number @talktalk.net and the password on your welcome letter.
Click on email, here you can see your email accounts and then you can delete any or update any you want.
To check your settings for outlook express
open Outlook express click on Tools, then Accounts, then click on your email address in the box to highlight it.
Click on properties to right of email address.
When box opens click on Servers.
Ensure your Incoming mail is pop.talktalk.net (which i think it will be)
Ensure your Outgoing mail is smtp.talktalk.net(make sure it doesnt mix up the T and M) which is a common fault.
Any questions feel free to pm me.
